New Delhi, June 4
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Gujarat and Daman on Friday, where he will unveil, inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for development projects worth more than ₹21,700 crore.
The Prime Minister will begin his visit in Surat’s Hazira area, where he will review ongoing industrial operations and infrastructure projects. Later, he will launch projects worth around ₹18,800 crore covering roads, healthcare, power and industrial development.
Among the key projects are sections of the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway, upgrades to national highways aimed at improving connectivity in tribal regions, and a new 200-bed ESIC hospital in Surat equipped with emergency and trauma care facilities.
Modi will also inaugurate power transmission and distribution projects, along with industrial infrastructure initiatives in major manufacturing and petrochemical hubs across Gujarat.
In the evening, the Prime Minister will travel to Daman to inaugurate the new terminal building at NAMO Airport and dedicate the newly built NAMO Hospital to the public.
He will also launch and lay the foundation stones for projects worth nearly ₹2,970 crore in Daman and announce four infrastructure projects for Lakshadweep valued at around ₹885 crore.
The projects are aimed at improving connectivity, healthcare services, industrial growth and public infrastructure across the region. The Prime Minister is expected to address public gatherings in both Surat and Daman during the visit.
