Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday praised India’s youth for their leading role in driving technological innovation and strengthening the country’s digital ecosystem over the past 11 years. Marking more than a decade of the ‘Digital India’ initiative, Modi said the movement had empowered young innovators and significantly improved public service delivery and transparency.
In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Modi responded to messages shared by the government’s citizen engagement platform, MyGovIndia. He wrote: “Powered by the youth of India, we are making remarkable progress in innovation and application of technology. It is also strengthening our efforts to become self-reliant and a global tech powerhouse.” The prime minister further highlighted the transformative impact of digital infrastructure on governance and welfare. “Leveraging the power of technology has brought innumerable benefits for people. Service delivery and transparency have been greatly boosted. Furthermore, technology has become a means of empowering the lives of the poorest of poor,” he said.
