Patiala, June 5
As investigations continue into the murder of Dimple in Mohali’s Phase 11, her family has demanded accountability from the private company where both the victim and the accused, Harjinder Singh, were employed.
Balwant Rai, a relative of the deceased, said the family believes the company also bears responsibility for ensuring the safety and security of its employees. He said Dimple had been working there for more than three years and that appropriate action should be taken if any lapses are found.
He further revealed that the family had recently begun discussions regarding Dimple’s marriage. According to him, her brother had spoken to her about a marriage proposal earlier this week, and she had expressed her consent.
Meanwhile, fresh details have surfaced about Harjinder Singh’s background in Patiala. Residents of Ratan Nagar, where he reportedly owns a house, said the property has remained locked for a long time and is rarely occupied.
Former inspector Karamjit Singh Bajwa, who lives in the same locality, said only an elderly woman occasionally visits the house for cleaning purposes. He added that Harjinder Singh had not been seen in the neighbourhood for a considerable period, while his family is believed to be living abroad. Family members have reached Mohali Civil Hospital for postmortem formalities, and the last rites of Dimple are expected to be performed later in the day.
