Shimla, May 11
Kuldeep Singh Rathore on Sunday welcomed the unanimous and unopposed election of representatives in the Narkanda Nagar Panchayat under the Theog Assembly constituency, calling it a “historic decision” taken by people above party politics.
Congratulating residents and newly elected representatives, Rathore said the decision reflected democratic values, social harmony, and mutual cooperation among people of the region. He stated that the consensus-based election showed the public’s priority was development rather than political rivalry.
“The unanimous selection of all representatives is proof that people want rapid development in the region. If elected representatives work together without political differences, the Nagar Panchayat will witness faster progress,” Rathore said.
Highlighting Narkanda’s significance as a major tourist destination in Himachal Pradesh, the MLA said his priority was to further strengthen tourism infrastructure in the region. He added that efforts would continue to improve tourism facilities, public infrastructure, and employment opportunities for local residents.
Rathore also said development projects related to roads, drinking water, sanitation, parking, and tourism amenities would be enhanced to establish Narkanda among the country’s leading tourist destinations.
Emphasising the importance of consensus in democracy, he said the people of Narkanda had sent a positive message to the entire state by choosing cooperation over political divisions.
The MLA expressed confidence that the newly elected representatives would work with honesty, transparency, and dedication while prioritising public welfare. He further assured that both the state government and he personally remain committed to the region’s overall development.
