65 pilots sign up so far; Army, IAF personnel among participants; registrations open till September 25

Solang Nala in Manali is set to host an international paragliding competition from October 5 to 8, with around 65 pilots registered so far for the four-day event. Registrations will remain open until September 25, organisers said.
The competition, titled Accuracy Pre-World Cup, is being organised by the Manali Paragliding Association for the first time. Association president Ved Ram Thakur said as many as 61 men and four women had registered so far. Personnel from the Indian Army and Indian Air Force (IAF), besides pilots from different parts of the country, are also expected to participate.
Thakur said the event would promote paragliding and adventure sports in the region.
Meanwhile, association chairman Prem Chand said it would also provide a boost to tourism in Manali.
Interested participants can register until September 25, Chand added.
