Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Monday lauded the Ludhiana Police for their commendable efforts in dismantling an inter-state cyber fraud gang. In collaboration with Assam Police, two persons were arrested in Guwahati, while seven more have been identified as part of the investigation. The operation led to the recovery of ₹5.25 crore, ATM cards, and mobile phones, marking the largest-ever recovery in India, according to data from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), the DGP said. As a testament to their excellent work, the Cyber Crime team of Ludhiana Commissionerate has been honored with the Director General’s Commendation Disc. Their relentless dedication to public safety in combating cybercrime sets a significant benchmark for future efforts.
