JioHotstar on Monday released the official trailer of its upcoming original series, Pritam & Pedro, a comedy-mystery drama set in Goa, ahead of its premiere on July 3.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Avinash Arun and created by celebrated filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, the series stars Arshad Warsi, Vikrant Massey, Vir Hirani, Mona Singh and Boman Irani in key roles.
Set against the colorful backdrop of Goa, the story follows two contrasting personalities brought together by an unusual mystery. Pedro, an instinct-driven old-school police officer, and Pritam, a sharp young technology expert, find themselves drawn into a case that grows increasingly complex and unpredictable. As the investigation unfolds, secrets emerge, loyalties are tested, and unexpected twists shape their journey.
The series combines humor, mystery, adventure, and emotional storytelling, bringing together Rajkumar Hirani’s signature human-centric narratives with contemporary themes and engaging characters.
Speaking about the project, Alok Jain, Head of Hindi and English Entertainment Business at JioHotstar, said the platform aims to bring compelling stories to a wider audience and believes Pritam & Pedro offers memorable characters and a heartwarming narrative.
Rajkumar Hirani said the relationship between the two central characters was the most exciting aspect of the story. He noted that although Pritam and Pedro come from completely different worlds, they are forced to embark on an unexpected journey together.
Director Avinash Arun said the series continues to surprise viewers while remaining deeply rooted in human relationships. He added that the goal was to create a world that is entertaining, immersive, and emotionally engaging.
Arshad Warsi described Pedro as a character who trusts his instincts and often finds himself in unpredictable situations. He said the humor and chaos of the story make it an enjoyable experience for viewers.
Vikrant Massey said the series balances humor, mystery, and emotion while giving every character a unique journey, making the narrative rich and dynamic.
Vir Hirani said working alongside experienced actors and filmmakers provided him with valuable learning opportunities throughout the project. With a blend of comedy, suspense, and emotional depth, Pritam & Pedro is set to stream exclusively on JioHotstar from July 3.
