Jai Ram Thakur discusses Himachal’s development, seeks PM Modi’s guidance during Delhi meeting
New Delhi, August 22
Himachal Pradesh Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Friday. They held detailed discussions on key issues concerning Himachal Pradesh, the state’s current situation, and development matters.
Thakur apprised Prime Minister Modi of the current situation in Himachal Pradesh and discussed various issues related to the state’s development. He said Modi has always maintained a special affection for Himachal Pradesh and that the Central Government has consistently prioritized the state’s interests and development.
Thakur said several major projects in Himachal Pradesh in sectors including roads, healthcare, education, railways and infrastructure have been advanced under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. He added that various Central Government welfare schemes are benefiting lakhs of families across the state.
The Leader of Opposition said he received the Prime Minister’s guidance on several important issues concerning Himachal Pradesh during the meeting. He also thanked Modi for the continued support and guidance extended to the state.
Thakur said Himachal Pradesh has unique geographical conditions and faces development challenges different from those of other states. He stressed that better coordination between the Center and the state is essential to address these challenges and ensure the state’s development.
He said the BJP had accelerated Himachal Pradesh’s development with the support of the Central Government while it was in power. He added that even while in opposition, the party continues to strongly raise issues concerning the state’s interests before the Centre.
Thakur said India is progressing rapidly on the path of development under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and Himachal Pradesh is an important partner in this journey. He expressed confidence that continued support from the Center would give further momentum to ambitious development projects in the state.
During his New Delhi visit, Thakur also met former BJP national president and Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda and enquired about his well-being. The two leaders discussed various issues related to Himachal Pradesh during the meeting.
Thakur said Nadda has made significant contributions to the development of Himachal Pradesh and strengthening the BJP organization. He added that Nadda’s experience and guidance continue to inspire party workers.
Thakur said the support and guidance of Prime Minister Modi and the central leadership provide new energy to the Himachal BJP. He added that raising issues concerning the interests of the people of Himachal Pradesh at every appropriate forum and working continuously for the state’s development remain the party’s priorities.
