Gurnam Bhullar lights up fourth cultural evening of Shimla Summer Festival; CM to attend Final night

The fourth cultural evening of the International Shimla Summer Festival 2026 turned into a vibrant celebration of music and culture on Friday, with popular Punjabi singer Gurnam Bhullar delivering a high-energy performance that captivated audiences at the historic Ridge Maidan.

Health Minister Col. Dr. Dhani Ram Shandil attended the event as the chief guest. As soon as Bhullar took the stage, he enthralled the crowd with his hit numbers, drawing loud cheers from youngsters, women, and senior citizens. The audience joined in enthusiastically, dancing to Punjabi folk beats and lighting mobile flashlights, creating a festive atmosphere across the venue.

The Ridge echoed with applause and chants as the singer performed some of his most popular tracks, marking one of the most engaging evenings of the ongoing festival.

Meanwhile, as part of the Summer Festival activities, a helicopter joyride experience is scheduled for today. The registration link will be made available at 9 a.m. on the DC Shimla Facebook page. Auckland Tunnel has been designated as the pickup and drop-off point. The 8–10-minute aerial ride will offer participants panoramic views of Shimla’s Seven Hills. Authorities have announced that only a limited number of slots will be available.

The festival will conclude with its final cultural evening, where Punjabi singers Jassie Gill and Babbal Rai are set to perform together, promising a high-energy musical finale. The programme is scheduled to continue until midnight.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will attend the concluding cultural night as the chief guest.

In addition, the first Anti-Chitta Inter-District Volleyball Championship being held at Sanjauli will also conclude today, marking the end of another key sporting event held alongside the festival.
