Representatives of universities and banks interact with students and parents

A Global Education Fair was organised in Patiala on Friday to provide students aspiring to study abroad with direct information on university admissions, visa applications and student funding, with representatives of foreign universities and banks interacting with students and parents.

The fair was aimed particularly at students studying in Classes 11 and 12 who are considering pursuing higher education overseas. University representatives explained their respective admission criteria and provided guidance on the application process.

The initiative also sought to address concerns over students being allegedly cheated by travel agents while applying for visas and overseas education. Organisers said direct interaction with university representatives could help students and their parents obtain accurate information without relying solely on intermediaries.

Representatives of various banks were also present at the fair and shared information with students and parents about student funding. The organisers said the financial guidance was intended to help families understand available funding options and avoid falling prey to fraud.

Gaurav Arora, director of Gateway of Dreams Consultant and organiser of the fair, said the main objective was to provide accurate guidance to students who wanted to pursue higher education abroad.

He said students in Classes 11 and 12 needed to understand the proper process for securing admission to foreign universities and applying for visas so that they could pursue their studies without being cheated.

Arora said representatives of more than 20 universities from different countries participated in the fair and explained the criteria for admission to their institutions.

The participating university representatives interacted directly with students, while bank representatives provided information on student funding, giving students and parents an opportunity to seek information from relevant institutions.

The organisers said the fair was intended to promote informed decision-making among students planning to study abroad by providing them with information directly from universities and financial institutions.
