Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Wednesday announced that the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), in coordination with Batala Police, has arrested an active member of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang, identified as Gurlove Singh alias Love Randhawa, a resident of Batala. The Police recovered two pistols, three magazines, and sixteen live cartridges during the operation. Preliminary investigations revealed that Randhawa was working under the direction of a foreign-based handler, Amrit Dalam, and has a prior criminal record, including offences under the Arms Act, theft, and house-breaking.
An FIR has been registered under the Arms Act at Civil Lines Police Station, Batala. Authorities said further investigations are ongoing to uncover possible cross-border or inter-gang links. DGP Yadav reaffirmed the state police’s commitment to dismantling organised crime networks and ensuring peace across Punjab.
