AAP alleges Congress failed on jobs, development and public welfare in Himachal Pradesh

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday accused the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh of failing to fulfill its election promises, alleging that neither adequate employment opportunities nor visible development had reached the people despite nearly four years in office.

AAP state committee member and spokesperson Achal Chhabra said the Congress had promised five lakh jobs and one lakh employment opportunities in its first Cabinet meeting before coming to power. He alleged that youth were still struggling to find jobs, while outsourced employees and other workers were protesting their demands.

Chhabra also criticized the government’s economic policies, alleging that it had imposed various cesses on petrol and that the decision to restart lotteries would push young people to “try their luck” instead of providing employment.

Questioning the state’s healthcare system, he claimed that patients were facing long waits for diagnostic facilities, including X-rays, MRI and CT scans.

Citing the AAP government in Punjab, Chhabra said education and healthcare should be given priority to ensure sustainable development. He also accused the Congress government of highlighting the previous BJP regime instead of presenting its own report card.

Chhabra said people had given the Congress a mandate expecting better governance, but their trust had now been eroded.

He claimed that AAP would contest the 2027 Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections not merely as a “third alternative” but as a solution for the people. He said voters were tired of both the BJP and Congress and would give AAP an opportunity to form the government.
