Channi skips Congress meet to sit for his last MA Public Administration exam at Panjab University
Chandigarh, August 20
Former Punjab Chief Minister and the now MP from Jalandhar, Charanjit Singh Channi appeared for his final examination at Panjab University on Thursday. He is pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration from the university. Talking to media persons, he said he had received written approval from the high command to skip the party committee meeting so that he could appear for his exam because missing the paper would have delayed his degree and research work by a year. Channi also holds a PhD in political science from Panjab University.
Further talking about his research work, Channi said it focuses on bringing policy reforms in Punjab to put the state back on the path of development. He claimed that he and his team have been studying and researching the subject continuously for the past four and a half years. He said they would soon present a model to the Punjab government aimed at eliminating corruption through administrative reforms, ensuring that government machinery is not able to engage in corrupt practices.
He further said their focus would be on public welfare, including making education and healthcare completely free. He added that if the Congress government returns to power, they would seek to implement this model in Punjab.
