Shimla, May 6
Panic spread in parts of Shimla district after a bomb threat was issued against the SDM office and court in Rohru, with threatening posters discovered on Bharari Road on Tuesday morning.
According to officials, the posters warned that the Rohru SDM office and court premises would be blown up, adding that “the sound of the explosion will be heard as far as Delhi.” The message triggered immediate concern among authorities and residents alike.
Following the threat, the Rohru administration swiftly moved into action, placing the area on high alert. Both the SDM office and court premises were evacuated as a precautionary measure. Bomb disposal squads and dog units were deployed to conduct an extensive search operation across the premises.
Police in Shimla have taken possession of the posters found in Bharari and initiated a detailed investigation. Security has been significantly tightened in Rohru, while cyber cell teams and intelligence agencies are actively working to identify and trace those responsible for issuing the threat.
Officials confirmed that, as of now, no suspicious objects have been recovered during the search operations. Authorities have urged the public to remain calm while the investigation continues.
