BJP Disagrees with Kangana Ranaut’s Comments on Farmers’ Protest

The BJP on Monday expressed its disapproval of its MP Kangana Ranaut’s recent remarks concerning the farmers’ protest. In a statement issued here, the BJP clarified that Ranaut has been instructed not to make such statements in the future, The Tribune reported quoting the news agency. The BJP took this step following Ranaut’s controversial assertion that the farmers’ protests could have escalated into a situation similar to what Bangladesh experienced, had the country’s leadership not been strong.

In a video posted on X by the Mandi MP, she claimed that “bodies were hanging, and rapes were occurring” during the protests against the now-repealed three farm laws. The BJP emphasized in a statement that Ranaut’s comments do not represent the party’s views. The statement also noted that Ranaut is neither authorized nor permitted to speak on the party’s policy matters.

The party reiterated its commitment to the principles of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas,” and underscored the importance of social harmony.
