Punjab’s Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has arrested three associates of notorious arms smuggler Jugraj Singh and recovered six foreign-made weapons in a targeted operation near the border. The smuggling ring was being coordinated from inside Goindwal Jail, where Singh is currently lodged. Shockingly, the racket is said to have been run through the Munshi (clerk) of Singh’s legal counsel, said DGP Gaurav Yadav in his post on X previously known as Twitter. The seized cache includes advanced, foreign-manufactured firearms suspected to have been trafficked from across the international border. Officials said an FIR has been registered under the Arms Act at ANTF police station in SAS Nagar. The crackdown is part of a broader strategy to dismantle arms trafficking networks in the state.
