AAP candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu has won the Tarn Taran assembly by-election, defeating Shiromani Akali Dal’s Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa by 12,091 votes, according to figures released by the Election Commission of India. Sandhu secured 42,649 votes, while Randhawa finished with 30,558. The AAP workers and local leaders began celebrating early, confident of Sandhu’s victory in the high-stakes bypoll.
