AAP hits back at Majithia over drug trade allegations

Favours dialogue with employees to resolve DA issue

Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Punjab media advisor Baltej Pannu on Wednesday criticised Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia following the latter’s press conference held on Tuesday, questioning his drug trade allegations against the ruling government and asking him to explain how his own debt was repaid.

Pannu made the remarks during his visit to the historic Sri Kali Mata Temple in Patiala, where he arrived with his team to review the ongoing construction works at the shrine.

Reacting to Majithia’s remarks, he said, “The SAD leader is the one who has come with dowry items,” using the expression to question his allegations against others. 

Meanwhile, responding to a question about the government approaching the Supreme Court over the dearness allowance (DA) matter, the AAP leader said it was the state’s right to approach the apex court and it hoped to resolve the issue soon through discussions with employees.
