Chandigarh, January 3
Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema handed over appointment letters to eight newly recruited officials of the Excise and Taxation Department under the Ghar-Ghar Rojgar Yojana. The appointees include five Excise and Tax Inspectors and three clerks. During the event, Cheema highlighted the department’s pivotal role in revenue generation and urged the new officials to uphold integrity and diligence in their duties. He stressed the importance of enhancing revenue collection to support the state’s development initiatives.
Cheema also lauded the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, for its commitment to creating job opportunities for the youth. He noted that the recruitment drive is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the state’s workforce and contribute to Punjab’s overall progress.
