At least eight people lost their lives, and over 20 others were injured when a private bus plunged into a canal in Bathinda. The accident occurred amid heavy rain as the bus, carrying 44 passengers, was traveling from Sardulgarh in Mansa district to Bathinda, roughly 70 kilometers away, according to officials. The bus, operated by New Guru Kashi Transport Company, overturned into the Lissara Drain at Jeevan Singh Wala on Talwandi Road, approximately 13 kilometers from its destination.
