Punjab and Haryana High Court judge Justice G.S. Sandhawalia has been appointed as Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, while Andhra Pradesh High Court judge Justice G. Narendar will serve as Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court, Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said. The appointments were made by the President of India after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, Meghwal said, exercising powers under the Constitution. The government also confirmed the elevation of additional judges in various high courts to permanent status.
