Sonakshi Sinha reminded veteran actor Mukesh Khanna of forgiveness, a key value taught in the Ramayana, after he criticized her upbringing over a 2019 quiz show incident. Mukesh Khanna recently blamed Sonakshi’s father, actor Shatrughan Sinha, for not teaching her about the Ramayana when she failed to answer a question about Lord Hanuman on Kaun Banega Crorepati. Sonakshi took to Instagram (@aslisona) to address the comments, responding calmly yet firmly.

In her heartfelt note, Sonakshi wrote, “Dear Sir, Mukesh Khanna ji, I recently read a statement you made saying that it’s my father’s fault I did not answer a question about the Ramayana correctly… Firstly, let me remind you there were two women on the hot seat that day who did not know the answer, but you choose to keep taking my name for reasons that are quite obvious.”

The question that sparked the controversy was about who Lord Hanuman brought the sanjeevani booti for. Acknowledging the moment as a “human tendency” to blank out, Sonakshi questioned why her name alone continues to be dragged into the spotlight. She reminded everyone of the forgiveness taught in the Ramayana, citing how Lord Ram forgave Kaikeyi, Manthara, and even Ravan.

“Surely you can let go of this extremely small thing in comparison,” Sonakshi wrote, adding, “not that I need your forgiveness, but yes, I definitely need you to forget and stop bringing up the same incident to be back in the news at the expense of me and my family.”

Sonakshi’s response wasn’t just about defending herself but also standing up for her father and the values he instilled in her. “It’s because of those values that I have only said what I said, very respectfully,” she shared.

The actress signed off wishing Mukesh Khanna well. Her dignified response has struck a chord with fans, who have applauded her for handling the situation with strength and grace.
