Malout/Chandigarh, November 28
Punjab’s Minister for Social Security, Women and Child Development, Dr. Baljit Kaur, on Thursday unveiled Rs 6 crore sewage improvement project for Malout city on Thursday. The initiative aims to address long-standing sewage issues and enhance civic amenities for residents. “Continuous efforts are being made to resolve Malout’s sewage problems and provide comprehensive services,” the minister said, highlighting that funding was secured through coordination with relevant departments. The project includes laying large pipes on Main Colony Road and replacing a 3,100-meter rising main pipe to improve drainage in areas such as PUDA Colony, Star City Colony, and 40% of the city’s area.
The minister said that the initiative, which focuses on quality and durability, will ensure better health, sanitation, and overall development for Malout residents and additional improvements in clean water supply, road repairs, and park development are also underway across Punjab.
