Jalandhar, November 27
Two associates of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang were apprehended in Jalandhar following a high-speed chase and shootout, Jalandhar Commissionerate Police said on Monday. The incident occurred when police retaliated after the suspects opened fire during the pursuit. Both individuals, who face charges including extortion, murder, violations of the Arms Act, and the NDPS Act, were taken into custody.
Police recovered three firearms and several cartridges from the suspects. The operation underscores heightened efforts to crack down on organized crime networks in the region, the Punjab Police said in its post on X previously known as Twitter.
