PM Modi: Congress-ruled states serve as ATMs for party ‘royal family’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleged on Saturday that Congress-led states act as “ATMs” for the party’s “royal family,” vowing that Maharashtra would not meet the same fate. Speaking at an election rally in Akola ahead of the state assembly elections, Modi challenged Congress’s top leadership to prove they had ever visited memorial sites linked to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, accusing them of disregarding his legacy.

Modi criticized the opposition Maha-Aghadi coalition, describing it as a “scam-filled” alliance marked by corruption and financial abuse. Highlighting Karnataka and Telangana as examples, he accused Congress-led administrations of perpetuating scandals and financial mismanagement.

Outlining his party’s achievements, the Prime Minister pointed to significant projects in Maharashtra, such as the Vadhavan Port and efforts in infrastructure, housing, and healthcare. He emphasized recent government decisions like the recognition of Marathi as a classical language and plans to boost cotton production and irrigation through river-linking projects, aiming to strengthen Maharashtra’s farming sector.

Addressing the Congress Party’s alleged divisive policies, Modi accused the party of fragmenting communities based on caste to weaken the nation. He reiterated the BJP’s commitment to honouring Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy with Panchteerth memorials and promised continued focus on uniting communities and supporting farmers.
