A cleanup drive was conducted along the Manali-Goshal route after the Manali Marathon, with Healing Himalayas, the Municipal Council (MC) Manali and event organisers joining hands to remove waste generated during the race.
The drive covered the entire race stretch from Manali to Goshal, which witnessed participation from more than 980 runners on Sunday. Teams worked along the route to collect and clear waste, leaving the stretch clean after the event.
Healing Himalayas, the official sustainability partner of the marathon, led the initiative in collaboration with the civic body and the organising team.
The organisers said protecting the fragile Himalayan ecosystem remained a key priority. Under the event’s green initiative, a zero-littering policy was enforced to minimise the environmental impact of the marathon.
The initiative aimed to promote responsible sporting events and encourage participants to respect the natural surroundings of the region.
