EcoPravah event to bring students, citizens and climate champions together; grand finale scheduled in Panchkula on October 9

Chandigarh, October 1

Chandigarh will host a Climate Walk at Sukhna Lake on October 2 as part of EcoPravah 2026, a month-long climate innovation initiative spanning Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh.

According to the official EcoPravah website, the walk will bring together students, citizens and climate champions, with participants carrying climate-awareness banners and signing a Climate Pledge Wall.

The walk is scheduled at Sukhna Lake on Friday, with the event forming part of EcoPravah’s 2026 programme. The initiative’s official schedule lists Chandigarh’s Climate Walk and Pledge Wall for October 2, followed by the grand finale in Panchkula on October 9.

The 2026 edition is India’s first dedicated Climate Month, expanding its earlier Punjab-focused programme to three states and one Union Territory. The initiative uses technology, entrepreneurship and policy to promote climate solutions and says it has supported more than 100 early-stage climate-tech entrepreneurs through networking, mentorship and collaboration with investors and industry leaders.

The wider programme includes three tracks, namely Young Climatizers, Sustainability Warriors and Entrepreneurial Express, covering school students, college and university students and climate-tech startups, respectively.

The official EcoPravah website says the Chandigarh walk is intended to take the climate conversation into a public space, with participants making individual commitments towards a more sustainable future. The initiative had also organised a Climate Walk and Pledge Wall at Sukhna Lake during its 2025 programme.

The event is being organised as part of EcoPravah 2026 by SACC, WeIncubate and Samvedanam.
