Justice Rajiv Shakdher was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court on Wednesday. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla administered the oath of office to Justice Rajiv Shakdher. Justice Shakdher, born on October 19, 1962, will have a brief tenure as Chief Justice as he is set to retire on October 18.
Justice Shakdher holds an LLB degree from the University of Delhi and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1987. He further pursued an Advanced Course in Law from the University of London in 1994 as a Chevening Scholar.Appointed as an additional judge of the Delhi High Court in April 2008, he became a permanent judge in 2011. Justice Shakdher was later transferred to the Madras High Court in 2016 before returning to the Delhi High Court in 2018.
