‘Garden of Eden’ makes Chandigarh debut with India’s fashion heritage

Two-day showcase continues on Thursday at Hyatt Regency, featuring around 100 labels from Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow and beyond

The first Chandigarh edition of the “Garden of Eden” exhibition drew a large crowd at the Hyatt Regency on Wednesday, bringing together around 100 fashion, jewellery and lifestyle labels from across the country.

The two-day exhibition, being held on September 23 and 24, features Indian and Indo-western wear, fine jewellery, accessories, Pakistani and Kashmiri outfits, kidswear, home and living products, gifting items and cocktail sarees.

The exhibition, curated by Ludhiana-based entrepreneur, influencer and designer Inayat DhanSamreen Dhillonda, was earlier organised in Ludhiana before making its Chandigarh debut this year. Dhanda, who is from Ludhiana, has previously hosted the showcase in the city. Roohi Baweja, fashion and lifestyle influencer and editor, is hosting the Chandigarh edition.

The opening day saw a steady flow of shoppers, with visitors browsing the collections and interacting with participating brands.

“There are several exclusive collections at the exhibition that are not easily available in Chandigarh. The variety is impressive and it is good to have so many designers and labels under one roof,” said Samreen Dhillon, a shopper at the exhibition.

Among the participating Indian wear labels are Women Lounge by Priyanka Deora, Odhni Studio, All Things Beautiful, Ethnic Edge, Rehmat Ethnics, The Rani Sahiba, Saffron Studio, Label Simer, EZA Couture, Utsav Collections, Ahsaas Luxe, Savvy Creations, Mehroz Couture and The Loom Edit by Anju Bansal.

The Western and Indo-western section features Call Me…Sunshine, Vamaone, Ruab Fashion, Minted Muse, House of Sila, Vastraa by Preet, Pink Empress, Tishe by Tishyaa Gupta and Tivara by Sohani.

The fine jewellery section includes Dhanda Jewellers, Araya, Inaayat Pearls and Paarth Silvers by Rampatrap. The exhibition also features accessories, home and living collections, gifting products, Pakistani suits, Kashmiri outfits, kidswear, cocktail sarees and block-print collections.

The exhibition will remain open on Thursday from 11 am to 8 pm at the Ballroom, Hyatt Regency, Chandigarh, giving visitors another opportunity to explore the participating collections.
