Kangra plans week-long World Tourism Day events

McLeodganj cultural programme set for September 27

The Kangra district Tourism Department will organise a week-long series of events to mark World Tourism Day, with participation from tourism stakeholders, educational institutions and other organisations across the district.

The programmes will be organised in collaboration with Central University of Himachal Pradesh, government degree colleges and representatives from the tourism sector. Hotelier associations, adventure tour operators, the Tibetan Association and other stakeholders will also participate.

District Tourism Officer Vinay Dhiman said a seminar, debate, declamation and other activities would be held at Central University of Himachal Pradesh as part of the programme.

A cultural event will be organised at McLeodganj on September 27, with tourists and represe ntatives associated with the tourism sector taking part.

Dhiman said no separate chief guest had been invited for the celebrations. Tourists arriving in McLeodganj from different parts of the country and abroad would be the special guests at the events.
