An accused in a recent case related to a clash between inmates and a jail warden at Dharamsala district jail, allegedly assaulted the warden during questioning at Sadar police station, Kangra Superintendent of Police Kulbhushan Verma said.
Verma said police called the accused to the station for questioning in connection with the jail incident. During the questioning, the accused allegedly attacked the warden after seeing him, prompting police personnel to intervene and stop the assault.
The SP said police registered a case at Sadar police station under FIR No. 179/26.
The accused has been booked under Sections 132, 121, 352 and 351 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), he said.
Police have started an investigation into the incident, Verma added.
The case stems from the earlier clash between inmates and a warden at the district jail in Dharamsala. The latest incident occurred during the police questioning of one of the accused in that case.
The allegations against the accused are subject to investigation.
