Chandigarh Press Club holds annual swimming meet

More than 40 club members and families participate in meet

Chandigarh, September 21

Aman Sharma and Sameer Sharma won gold in their respective categories at the Chandigarh Press Club’s Annual Swimming Meet held on Sunday, with more than 40 club members and their families participating in the competition.

Aman Sharma finished first in the 25m freestyle event in the men’s up-to-50 years category. Chaman Lal secured second position, while Sunil Kapoor finished third.

In the men’s 50 years-plus category, Sameer Sharma claimed the top position. Umesh Ghrera won silver, while Mansa Ram Rawat secured bronze.

The relay team event also saw competition in both categories. Aman Sharma, Mansa Ram Rawat and Chaman Lal won gold in the up-to-50 years category.

In the 50 years-plus category, the team comprising Sameer Sharma, Umesh Ghrera and Ivninderpal Singh secured the top position.

The swimming meet also featured events for children in three age groups.

In the mixed category for children up to seven years, Eaira won gold, followed by Yakshit in second place and Rizul in third. Paakhi Atwal and Armaan received consolation prizes.

In the mixed category for children aged seven to 11 years, Navyanka finished first, followed by Dhruv in second and Swaranpari in third. Rhythm Kapoor and Dhwani Atwal received consolation prizes.

In the mixed category for children aged 11 to 14 years, Swaranjali secured first position, while Jasraj Singh finished second. Advika and Punya Kapoor shared third position.

The Chandigarh Press Club organised the annual swimming competition for its members and their families, with participants competing in individual, relay and children’s events.
