Saini targets AAP government, says Punjab’s farmers, employees and traders are unhappy and BJP will return to power
Patiala, August 22
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday expressed confidence that the BJP would form the next government in Punjab, saying people had already made up their minds in favour of the party. Saini was speaking at the ‘Mela Teej Diyan’, organised by BJP leader and constituency in-charge Vikas Sharma at the grain market in Ghanaur, Patiala district. He also criticised the Punjab government over its performance. Saini said India had reached new heights under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and claimed that the Central Government had worked for the development and welfare of all sections of society.
Responding to a question about a notice reportedly issued to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s wife in connection with a ₹5-crore matter, Saini targeted the Aam Aadmi Party. He alleged that AAP leaders had merely “worn the cloak of honesty” while being corrupt from within.
Saini said cultural events such as the Teej festival help connect people with their traditional culture and heritage. He said Punjab has a rich cultural heritage that needs to be preserved and promoted.
The Haryana Chief Minister claimed that the BJP would form the government in Punjab in the coming time. He alleged that employees and farmers in the state were dissatisfied with the AAP government.
Saini further claimed that the business community was also unhappy with the present government and said people were waiting for the elections to vote the Aam Aadmi Party out of power.
