Patiala teacher Dinesh Kumar earns national recognition for his outstanding contribution to education.

Dinesh Kumar, a teacher at Government Victoria Girls Senior Secondary School, Patiala, has been selected for the prestigious National Teachers’ Award 2026 for his exemplary contribution to education.
The award is among the highest honours for teachers across India and is presented by the President on September 5, Teachers’ Day, recognising excellence, innovation and dedication in education.
Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains congratulated Dinesh Kumar and described him as an inspiration for the state’s teaching community. Bains said the national recognition reflects the quality of education being delivered in Punjab’s government schools and the dedicated efforts of its teachers.
He added that the achievement will boost the morale of teachers across the state and encourage others to pursue excellence. Bains said such honours further strengthen the Punjab government’s commitment to quality education and recognising teachers as key builders of a progressive society.
