Awarapan 2 earns Rs 21 crore on Day 1, joining Bharat, Baaghi 2, Kalki 2898 AD and M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story among Disha Patani’s biggest openers.

Actress Disha Patani has added another strong commercial performer to her filmography, with Awarapan 2 entering the list of her five biggest box-office openers.
Released on August 14, the Emraan Hashmi-starrer earned Rs 21 crore net in India on its opening day. The film marks the second installment of the cult Awarapan franchise, with Patani playing Zara opposite Hashmi.
Patani’s biggest opener remains Bharat (2019), starring Salman Khan and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The period drama collected Rs 42.30 crore net on its opening day. Patani appeared in the younger timeline and featured opposite Khan in the popular song “Slow Motion”.
Baaghi 2 (2018), starring Tiger Shroff, ranks second with an opening-day collection of Rs 25.10 crore net. Patani played Neha in the action thriller, which emerged as one of the year’s highest-grossing films.
Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD (2024) stands third on the list, with Rs 22.5 crore collected in India on Day 1. Patani played Roxie opposite Prabhas in the sci-fi epic, which also featured Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan.
Rounding out the list is M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016), which marked Patani’s breakthrough. The Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer earned Rs 21.3 crore net on its opening day, with Patani playing Priyanka Jha in the first half.
With Awarapan 2 joining her top five openers, Patani continues to strengthen her commercial presence with films spanning action, romance, biographical drama and pan-India cinema.
