Chandigarh, July 15
The NHAI has hiked toll rates at eight toll plazas in Punjab on Friday. The commuters passing through the Ladowal toll plaza—ranked among the most expensive in Ludhiana and they will now have to pay higher charges. This increase has occurred within a span of just four months; toll rates have been raised once again. The new rates have come into effect immediately. Following this decision, car drivers at the Ladowal toll plaza will now have to pay ₹235 instead of ₹225. Rates for all other vehicle categories have been increased as well.
The toll rate for cars and jeeps was increased by ₹5 on April 1, 2026, and has now been raised by another ₹10. A direct hike ranging from ₹10 to ₹60 has been recorded across various categories for single journeys.
Apart from Ladowal, toll rates for cars have also been increased by ₹5 to ₹10 at the Kalajhar, Lehrabega, Kot Karor, Ghulal, Kala Tibba, Khudyan Sarwar, Sheikhpura, and Paind toll plazas. Rates for buses, trucks, and other commercial vehicles have also been revised.
