Ajay Devgn’s comedy film Dhamaal 4 has made a strong start at the Indian box office, collecting Rs 15.50 crore nett on its opening day in India, according to the film’s makers.
Directed by Indra Kumar, the fourth installment of the popular Dhamaal franchise reunites fan-favourite characters Adi and Manav, portrayed by Arshad Warsi and Riteish Deshmukh. The film also stars Ajay Devgn, Jaaved Jaaferi and Sanjay Mishra in prominent roles.
The makers said the film has received a positive response from audiences since its release, with nostalgia surrounding the return of the franchise’s popular characters contributing to its strong opening-day performance.
“This madcap and laugh-out-loud comedy, with the return of fan-favourite duo Adi and Manav bringing back a wave of nostalgia for audiences, has found a treasure of its own at the box office, raking in an impressive Rs 15.50 crore nett on day one in India,” T-Series said in a statement.
The film follows a group of eccentric treasure hunters competing to uncover a mythical fortune hidden on a remote island. Their mission takes an unexpected turn when they encounter a crew of modern pirates searching for the same treasure.
Presented by T-Series in association with Devgn Films, Dhamaal 4 continues the successful comedy franchise that began in 2007 and has grown into one of Bollywood’s most successful comedy series.
The ensemble cast also includes Esha Gupta, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Anjali Anand, Upendra Limaye, Vijay Patkar and Ravi Kishan.
