Shimla, April 28
The weather in Himachal Pradesh changed on Tuesday following the activation of a Western Disturbance, bringing rain, cloud cover, and relief from prevailing heat conditions across several parts of the state. In Shimla and multiple other districts, skies remained overcast since morning, while light to moderate rainfall was recorded at several locations. The change in weather conditions has provided relief to residents from the intense heat and heatwave conditions experienced over the past few days.
The Meteorological Center Shimla has issued an orange alert for five districts, including Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, and Shimla. These areas are likely to experience thunderstorms, strong winds of 40 to 50 kmph, and isolated hailstorms, along with light to moderate rainfall.
The weather department has also issued an orange alert for hailstorms and storms in Kullu, Kangra, Mandi, and Shimla for April 29.
A yellow alert has been issued for Sirmaur, Solan, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Una districts, indicating the possibility of adverse weather conditions. According to the forecast, rain is expected to continue across parts of the state till April 30, with intermittent spells likely in several regions.
