Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said he met the trustees of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) and held discussions on ways to further popularise India’s diverse cultural heritage.
In a statement, Modi said the meeting focused on expanding public participation in efforts to preserve and promote India’s rich traditions.
He said the discussions also explored ways to strengthen outreach through both digital platforms and grassroots initiatives, with an emphasis on bringing more people into the cultural preservation journey.
The prime minister said supporting artists and scholars remains a key part of the initiative, describing their role as vital in safeguarding and promoting the country’s heritage.
Mr Modi added that promoting India’s culture is of great importance and welcomed efforts aimed at strengthening institutional and public support for the sector.
