Five pythons were seen together in the video in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, which was rapidly going viral on social media. This video creates so much panic and fear among the people. This incident took place near the Kalothar Mata Temple in the Lapiana Range of the Lower Hills in the Talla Vit area, where these five pythons were seen together three days back.
After the video went viral on social media, Dharamshala DFO Amit Sharma said that pythons are a common snake in Himachal Pradesh, so people don’t need to panic and fear. He also stated that pythons are not dangerous and do not pose a threat to humans. The DFO stated that pythons are put in Schedule 1 under the Wildlife Protection Act, which provides the highest protection to them. If someone harms these snakes, they face punishment because it constitutes a punishable offense.
He also stated that there are more venomous snakes found in Himachal, including the green pit viper,

Himalayan pit viper, Russell’s viper, and cobra. However, snakes like pythons and rat snakes are non-venomous and play an important role in maintaining ecological balance by preying on small animals.
Amit Sharma appealed to people that if they see these snakes, not to panic or harm them, but to report them to the forest depart.
