Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan has expressed condolences over the death of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and other officials in a plane crash. In a statement issued on Wednesday, Sandhwan said Pawar was a “stalwart leader” with a strong commitment to public service, adding that his work and dedication would continue to inspire many.
The Speaker said he was deeply saddened by the loss and offered prayers for peace for the departed souls. He also expressed sympathy with the bereaved families, saying he hoped they would find strength to cope with the loss at what he described as a difficult time. The officials said the aircraft crashed near Baramati in Pune district, killing Mr Pawar, 66, and four others.
