India’s annual student outreach programme Pariksha Pe Charcha has set a new benchmark, with registrations for its 2026 edition crossing 40 million, surpassing last year’s Guinness World Record of 35.6 million participants. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the milestone underlined the growing appeal of the initiative, which he described as having evolved from an annual interaction into a nationwide movement aimed at reducing exam-related stress among young people. Led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pariksha Pe Charcha brings students, parents and teachers together for an open dialogue on examinations, mental well-being and holistic development.

Pradhan urged students, whom the Prime Minister often refers to as “Exam Warriors”, to actively take part in the 2026 edition. He said that, as the examination season approaches, students could draw confidence and clarity from the Prime Minister’s guidance on focus, self-belief and overall well-being. According to the Ministry of Education, registrations crossed the four-crore mark on January 8, with participants signing up from across the country. Officials said the scale and diversity of participation reflected the programme’s deepening connection with learners, parents and educators.

The initiative is organised annually by the Department of School Education and Literacy under the Ministry of Education. Online registrations for the 2026 edition opened on December 1, 2025, through the MyGov portal.

As exams draw closer, students nationwide are being encouraged to register and engage with the programme, which officials say promotes a positive and stress-free approach to learning.
