Ayodhya, November 25
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday hoisted a saffron flag atop the 191-foot shikhar of the Ayodhya Ram Temple, marking a significant ceremonial moment at the newly built shrine. Modi was accompanied by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during the ceremony. The right-angled triangular flag, measuring 10 feet by 20 feet, carries the image of a radiant Sun — a symbol associated with the valour and divine brilliance of Lord Ram. It also features the sacred ‘Om’ and the Kovidara tree, both representing spiritual continuity.
Officials described the flag as a symbol of dignity, unity and cultural heritage, reflecting the temple’s broader message of civilisational continuity.
