India and China have agreed to continue using established mechanisms to address ground-level issues along their disputed border, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining stability and peace in the region. According to an official statement from India’s Ministry of External Affairs, the 23rd round of India-China Corps Commander Level Meeting was held on 25 October at the Chushul-Moldo border point. The talks were described as “friendly and cordial,” reflecting a cautious but ongoing effort to ease tensions.
This was the first meeting of the General Level Mechanism in the Western Sector since the 24th round of Special Representatives’ Talks, held on 19 August 2025. Officials from both countries reviewed developments since the previous Corps Commander meeting in October 2024 and acknowledged that “peace and tranquillity have been maintained” along the Line of Actual Control.
Both sides reiterated their commitment to dialogue and constructive engagement through existing diplomatic and military channels to resolve any remaining issues and prevent escalation.
