The first look at Ajey The Untold Story of Yogi has arrived — and it’s anything but quiet. Samrat Cinematics has dropped the official teaser for its highly anticipated political biopic, and it’s already sparking conversation with its powerful portrayal of a leader who rewrites the rulebook of power.
Starring Anantvijay Joshi in what looks to be a defining role, Ajey follows the extraordinary rise of a saffron-clad Yogi who walks into the heart of corruption — not to observe, but to dismantle it from within. Inspired by Shantanu Gupta’s bestseller, The Monk Who Became Chief Minister, the film draws from the life and political transformation of Yogi Adityanath.
With striking visuals, charged dialogue, and a simmering undercurrent of rebellion, the teaser introduces a Yogi who defies the clichés — calm in presence, fierce in mission.
Directed by Ravindra Gautam and produced by Ritu Mengi, Ajey doesn’t shy away from bold strokes. Set against the volatile political backdrop of Uttar Pradesh, the film navigates the murky waters of mafia control, political sabotage, and the power of people-driven change — with glimpses of the protagonist’s “Janta Darbar” hinting at a rare kind of grassroots leadership.
Alongside Joshi, the cast includes heavyweights like Paresh Rawal, Dineshlal Yadav “Nirahua”, Rajesh Khattar, Pawan Malhotra, and Garima Vikrant Singh, with music by Meet Bros and cinematography by Vishnu Rao. The screenplay, written by Dilip Bachchan Jha and Priyank Dubey, sets the tone for a politically charged, emotionally resonant journey.
Its global theatrical release is scheduled for 1st August 2025.
