Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed this achievement as a “proud moment for India”, acknowledging the relentless efforts of workers in the sector. Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy announced the milestone in a post on X, to which Prime Minister Modi responded, emphasizing the importance of coal production in strengthening India’s energy infrastructure. The record-breaking output highlights India’s push for greater domestic resource utilization in its path to economic resilience.
