New Delhi, February 11
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal met Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and state lawmakers in New Delhi on Tuesday amid speculation of internal discord within the party. The meeting, currently in progress, is being held at Kapurthala House, with Mann, 91 AAP MLAs, and MPs from Punjab in attendance. Senior leaders, including Manish Sisodia, are also participating. As the only state where AAP holds power, Punjab remains a key political focus ahead of the 2027 state elections. Punjab NRI Affairs Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal dismissed speculation of instability, stating the meeting aimed to strengthen the party. Punjab MLA Anmol Gagan Maan echoed similar sentiments, asserting that the government is functioning smoothly and refuting claims of external influence on party decisions. The meeting comes after AAP suffered setbacks in the recent Delhi elections, intensifying focus on its Punjab unit as it prepares for upcoming electoral challenges.
