Eight PPS Officers Among 19 Punjab Police Officials to Receive Chief Minister’s Medal for Outstanding Devotion to Duty

The Governor of Punjab, on the recommendation of the state government, announced on Saturday the recipients of the Chief Minister’s Rakshak Padak and Chief Minister’s Medal for Outstanding Devotion to Duty in recognition of exceptional service. Four officials from the Police Post Jaijon in Hoshiarpur—ASI Manna Singh, ASI Rajinder Singh, Lady Senior Constable Kulwinder Kaur, and Punjab Homeguard Gurdeep Singh—will receive the Chief Minister’s Rakshak Padak for saving Deepak Kumar’s life after his Innova car overturned in the Jajjon Khad river on August 11, 2024.
Senior Constable Gurpreet Singh, from the CID Unit in Ludhiana, will also be honored with the same award for rescuing a man from the Sirhind Canal following a suicide attempt on August 29, 2024.
Additionally, 19 officers, including eight PPS officers, will receive the Chief Minister’s Medal for Outstanding Devotion to Duty. Among the awardees are SP PBI Sangrur Navreet Singh Virk, SP PBI and Investigation Faridkot Jasmeet Singh, and others for their exceptional contributions to law enforcement. Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav praised the recipients and thanked the state government for acknowledging the Punjab Police’s commitment and courage. He noted that such recognitions encourage the force to serve with even greater dedication.
