Punjab’s Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister, Dr. Baljit Kaur, conducted a surprise inspection of Anganwadi Centers in Bhokhra and Bajak villages, Bathinda Urban, to assess the quality of services. During her visit to Bhokhra, Dr. Kaur reviewed records, including those related to the Supplementary Nutrition Program (SNP) and graffiti, and interacted with beneficiaries and elderly individuals about pension concerns.
In Bajak, she inspected an Anganwadi Center built under the MGNREGA scheme and discussed the quality of nutrition with children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers, who expressed satisfaction with the food and services. Dr. Kaur also conducted an on-site check of food items, including sweet and savory porridge and pre-mix khichdi, served at the centers. She met with women beneficiaries to review government schemes and engaged children in intellectual and creative activities, appreciating their efforts.
The Minister praised the commitment of Anganwadi workers and reaffirmed the state’s dedication to improving early childhood care and ensuring the welfare of women and children, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership. Officials present during the inspections included CDPO Shri Pankaj Kumar, Smt. Usha, and District Welfare Officer Shri Varinder Singh.
