No casualties reported; officials assess cause, extent of damage
Shimla, September 3
A major fire broke out in Chamaru village in the Jubbal subdivision of Shimla district on Thursday, gutting two houses and causing extensive property damage.
The fire reportedly broke out at the house of Lokendra Chauhan, a resident, around noon. It spread rapidly, engulfing two houses before residents could control the blaze.
After receiving information, locals rushed to the spot and launched efforts to douse the flames. However, the fire was so intense that both houses were completely destroyed.
No loss of life was reported in the incident.
The exact cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained. Officials and the department concerned reached the spot and began assessing the damage caused by the blaze.
